WCGHS May 2007 Newsletter

Hello everyone,

Spring has finally arrived and the WCGHS has resumed our open investigations. The past month has been a busy one for us, but the upcoming months show no signs of slowing down. We have several things planned for the WCGHS, including our first annual picnic.

In the month of April we have conducted several investigations, including a private investigation in Sandwich, IL.  The investigation reports and evidence for these will be posted in the upcoming weeks. The schedule for the month of May is as follows:

Saturday May 5, 2007- Investigation at the Manteno State Mental Hospital
Friday May 11, 2007- Disclosure for private residence in Sandwich,IL
Saturday May 12, 2007-Investigation at a private residence in Joliet, IL
Friday May 18, 2007-Open investigation
Saturday May 19, 2007-Investigation at a private residence in Princeton,IL
Friday May 25, 2007- Open investigation
Saturday May 26, 2007-Open investigation

All investigations that are conducted by the WCGHS shall be done with the director present. If the director is not present, then the organization's name can not be used unless permission is given prior to the beginning of the investigation by the director. For those who wish to participate in the investigations, they must contact the director. For anyone considering going to the Manteno State Hospital on their own, be advised that written permission is now required. If you do not have written permission the police will arrest you.

We have begun to conduct open investigations again. An open investigation is an investigation that is open to anyone in the WCGHS, including new members. There are only two qualifications for these investigations. First, you must be 18 years of age or older. Second, you must sign a membership agreement. Our open investigations will consist of 6-8 members and will be filled according to those who reply first.

We will also start a new rotation for our private investigations.  There will be one position on each investigation that will be filled by a member that does not normally have the opportunity to participate on this type of investigation. There are a few requirements for those wishing to be placed on this list. First, you must have previously been on an investigation with us. An open investigation or any of our events will qualify. Second, a signed membership agreement must be handed into the director or the lead investigator prior to the beginning of the investigation. Finally, all members that attend private investigations must turn an investigation report within the given time.

The WCGHS will begin fund-raising sometime in the upcoming months in our efforts to help us purchase more equipment. We are still in the need of various items for our DVR system, such as additional cameras, tripods, and a 16 channel power supply to name a few. We have several ideas for fund-raising, and would appreciate any additional ideas that anyone may have.

The new WCGHS baseball hats are now available for purchase. The are embroidered one size fits all black twill hats. The hats can be viewed at http://www.aghostpage.com/wcghshats.htm  The cost is $15.00 per hat. The new WCGHS t-shirts are also available. On the front of the shirt over the left breast is a small ghost wrapped around WCGHS. The back says, "Ghost hunters do it in the dark."  The shirts come in black with green writing or dark blue with white writing. There are limited quantities of shirts left. Our original shirt design is also available in sizes medium and large. The shirts can be viewed at http://www.aghostpage.com/tshirts.htm We will ship anywhere in the US for $4.00.

The WCGHS is planning on having our first annual family picnic. The date that we have chose is Sunday September 16, 2007. The exact location has not been determined as of yet. The picnic will be open to all WCGHS members, their families and friends. We plan on having a cookout, a raffle, and actives for the children. We are looking for ideas, actives, and a possible location for our first picnic.

On a more personal note, I will begin writing my first book. The book will be about haunted places in the Chicagoland area. This book will be different from many of the books that are already out there on the topic. The majority of the locations have not been written about before. I will personally visit and research every location in the book.  I have a huge list that I have complied already, but would appreciate any further locations that anyone thinks should be wrote about. Do not assume that I already know about the location or that it has already been written about.

We hope to see everyone very soon. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone to be active. If anyone has any questions or ideas, please email me directly or contact me at (815)919-4537.

Take care,
Dan Jungles
