The last few months have been busy for the WCGHS. We have done numerous investigations and have several more planned. The WCGHS has a number of events planned for the next few months that are open to all members and their families. We also have several positions open for new team members. Several new members have joined and we look forward to having them join our team.

We are currently behind on posting investigation reports and the evidence gathered on our investigations, but hope to catch up soon. However, it is summer and there is a lot going on in our lives besides ghost hunting, so these may take a little while. There are several reports and other updates that have been done to the website in the past few weeks. If you would like to see the updates, they can be viewed by clicking on the updates link on the bottom of our homepage. Please be aware that the ideas and opinions that are posted on our on-line Yahoo group do not necessarily reflect our views. We have over 1,400 members from all backgrounds from all over the world. Do not let what happens there affect your opinion of the WCGHS. We also have our own on-line forum Ghost Chatter, that can be accessed from our homepage. This forum allows members to discuss the paranormal minus the drama on the Yahoo group. As a side note the WCGHS website hit a milestone in the month of June surpassing the 300,000 hit mark.
There have been open investigations for the past several months, and we will continue to have these almost on a weekly basis. An open investigation is an investigation that is open to anyone in the WCGHS, including new members. There are only two qualifications for these investigations. First, you must be 18 years of age or older. Second, you must sign a membership agreement. Our open investigations will consist of 6-8 members and will be filled according to those who reply first.
We have a number of private investigations coming up in the upcoming months. We would like to give everyone an opportunity to have the chance to attend one of these investigations. There will be a minimum of one new member attending each private investigation. A private investigation is considered any investigation that is at a private residence, business, or church. In order to attend a private investigation a member must have been on a open investigation with us within the past 60 days.
For those members who are interested in signing up for open and private investigations, please email me directly at ghosthunter1@sbcglobal.net . The investigations will be filled according to those who reply first. Starting immediately members will be asked for proper id prior to the start of any investigation. The id must be a valid drivers license or state id. If a valid id can not be presented, then the member will not be able to attend the investigation.
We currently have two positions open on the team. The first position will be researcher. The position does not require any experience and will be trained by the head researcher Michele Young. As a researcher, a person is required to drive to various locations, such as libraries, courthouses, historical societies, and various other locations that may have documents on file regarding the property in question. They may have to interview various people in order to gather a better understanding of the history of a property. The next position that is open is DVR Tech. As a DVR tech the person will be required to set up, break down, and account for all DVR equipment. The person does not need experience, and will be trained by head DVR Tech Tom Wilson. The DVR tech will be required to attend 85% of all private investigations. If anyone is interested in either position, please contact me at ghosthunter1@sbcglobal.net .
The WCGHS will be having our first fund-raising event. We will be having a candlelight bowl on August 4, 2007. We encourage all members to attend, and bring their family and friends. The event will begin at 10pm and end approximately at 1am. The cost of the event will be $20.00 per person. Included will be shoe rental, use of alley bowling balls, pizza, pop or beer. We will also have various items up for raffle. If you have an item that you would like to donate, please let us know. We are allowed to bring outside desserts. The event will be held at Pioneer Lanes located at 150 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield, IL 60544. Please contact us immediately to reserve your spot.

The exact location has not been determined as of yet, but we hope to have this set within the next two weeks. The picnic will be open to all WCGHS members, their families and friends. We plan on having a cookout, a raffle, and activities for the children. We are looking for ideas, activities, and a possible location for our first picnic.
