Hello everyone,
We would first like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! The past year has been a great one for the WCGHS, and look forward to a fantastic 2007. We have been very successful in 2006, however, in 2007 there will be several changes for the WCGHS.
The WCGHS structure will be changed immediately. Each member will be issued a status or position in the group. Within the next several weeks, these will be spelled out and posted onto the website. A few of the positions will be Lead Investigator, Field Investigator, Case Manager, Researcher, Video Technician, Technician, Assistant Web-Master, Public Relations, Interviewer, as well as several other positions. All of these positions will not be filled immediately, but we hope do do so as soon as possible.
How will these positions be determined? Is experience necessary? Some of the positions will be assigned by the Director according to experience and length of membership. Several of the positions do not require experience, and training will be given for those interested in these positions. For example, the position of interviewer does not require any experience. The person must be friendly and speak clearly. The interviewer will be given a list of all questions to be asked. This position is one of the easiest, and will be open to any members. Other positions may require some training and experience in a certain field. For example, a technician will require knowledge and experience with the equipment we use. For members who are serious about becoming more involved in the paranormal and the WCGHS there will be plenty of opportunities.
How are members chosen to go on investigations? This is one of the most common questions. Any member may go on an investigation that is at a public place or one of our events. A few examples of these would be cemeteries, historical sites, and other locations that are open to the general public. In order to attend investigations at private residents or businesses, a member must be an active member in good standing, and must have attended a minimum of 5 other investigations at a public place, such as a cemetery. Members who do not follow the protocol for investigations, will lose their place in the rotation. These protocols include conduct prior, during, and after the investigation. How do we find out about investigations? Investigations, both public and private will be announced on our on Yahoo Forum and through email.
The WCGHS website was not updated much between the months of March and November, however that has changed. In the month of December there has been numerous updates made to the site. The updates to the website can be found by clicking on the updates icon on the bottom of our homepage. We hope to continue to update the site on a weekly basis. Do you see something that should be added? changed? or removed? Please let us know. We have a number of new pages that will be added in the upcoming weeks, please visit the site often for updates.
What does the WCGHS have planned for 2007? We hope to continue to conduct investigations on a weekly basis, and to have the WCGHS family grow. We are currently in the process of buying a new DVR system, which we hope to have sometime in late spring or early summer. We will also have a few new WCGHS items, these will included new t shirts, hats, and car decals. The new shirts will hopefully be available sometime in February.
In the upcoming month of January we see a new structure for the WCGHS. There will be a handbook that will be posted on our website that will be followed by all members. We have at least two private investigations planned, and a number of other possible investigations in the works. We will also be having a meeting at the end of the month, the time and place will be announced within the next 7 days. The WCGHS newsletter past and present will now be available on the website.
Happy New Year
Take care,
Dan Jungles
